Target Audience Questionnaire;

Questionnaire...
Our questionnaire was aimed at finding out who would be our target audience and what sort of elements they wanted to see in our ‘horror’ clip.

Question 1:

We first asked the gender, however this may not have been as necessary, as all it really proved was that as a group we asked more females, this maybe because the group thought that females maybe more insightful and interested.

Question 2:

The second question was like the first, as it just let us find out the age range of the people we asked. The age range was students of our age; this was because the group thought it would be a good idea if we asked them because this is who we thought many ‘horror’ films were aimed at.

Question 3:

This question would help us understand if ‘horror’ was popular in this age range. If not then we would aim it at a different age. However it was very popular, thus concluding that we had chosen the right age range to aim the clip and questionnaire at.

Question 4:

The question of age was to create an idea for the group; the idea would involve how graphical the clip could be. The two age limits were; 15 and 18 which suggest that we could create a clip with a lot of gore and those younger children were not an age range that would watch a horror, suggesting we had the right target audience.

Question 5:

The fifth question was used to find out how popular ‘horror’ films were and how often people of our age range would watch them.

Question 6:

The group decided that this would be possibly one of the most important questions to ask, as it would help us to decide on the type of story line we would create. The most popular was blood/gore, which made it easy for the group to decide that the clip would show a lot of blood and gore, however we did realise that it would need to look very realistic for the clip to be taken as a serious ‘horror’.

Question 7:

Question 7 was once again about knowing the right target audience to aim the film at. The groups initial thought was 15-18 which was proven to be the most popular, thus we were right and will be aiming the film in this age range.

Question 8:

We decided to ask what their favourite horror film was. This was because we wanted to use the elements that were popular in the most well known and favourite film. This was because we concluded that the film was a favourite as it was well known and wanted to add elements to make our film seem well known.

Question 9

We asked this question to find out, about what elements of filming can create the effect that is most popular and desired by the audience. The element was blood and guts. We decided to use blood as it seemed quite scary and because it is what the audience found the most effective in a horror.

Question 10

This question was added for the group to gain an understanding of what emotion the characters should use, to create the atmosphere of this mood/ emotion for the audience. The most popular was fear, thus meaning we will use quick striking and scary elements in this clip.
